Sacra Congregatio de Propaganda Fide
The Sacra Congregatio de Propaganda Fide, or the Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith, commonly known as the Propaganda Fide, established by Pope Gregory XV in 1622, became the central authority for coordinating and promoting missionary work globally. In South Asia, missionaries affiliated with the Propaganda Fide were instrumental in spreading Christianity, particularly among indigenous communities, through various means such as education, healthcare, and social services.
